The Thriving Foodscapes Approach was collaboratively developed by the urban design and strategy firm Gehl, the public research unit Steno Diabetes Center, and the public-private partnership program Cities Changing Diabetes, run by Novo Nordisk

This site aims to build awareness and capacity for conducting Foodscape Assessments that can spur healthy neighbourhood interventions, with the ultimate goal of creating more attractive and healthy food environments for people.

Cities Changing Diabetes has supported Thriving Foodscape Assessments with Gehl and local partners in four cities to date: Bogotá, Philadelphia, Houston, and Lisbon. Collaborators in this work have included Philabundance, Locals Approach, Hope Clinic, Guys and St Thomas, and EAT Foundation.
